Meet William S Peckham

William Peckham's background in the DIY industry covers nearly fifty years.  He is now in his mid eighties and the author of over one hundred and five short stories, two short story publications and two mystery novels, "Out of the Woodwork" and the sequel “House Number Twenty-nine.  He and his wife plan to release a collection of short stories in 2015. Peckham’s non-fiction book, "Never Hang Wallpaper With Your Wife" was his first creation.  His DIY columns have appeared in national newspapers and magazines across Canada.

Even though his many years in the home improvement industry qualifies him to write extensively on the subject, he fell in love with fiction and has produced story after story for magazines and newspapers from coast to coast.  He is a regular columnist and casual short story writer for the national quarterly newspaper Senior Lifetimes, from Edmonton Alt–distributed from British Columbia to Ontario.  As Michael C. Hammar, he appeared on stage from 1978 to 2001 as a feature at more than a dozen home shows a year, hosted and wrote a national television series, "Don't Move Improve" and hosted a weekly call-in radio show from 1971 to 2000.

Peckham says, “Writing is my way of life and an outlet for my creative mind.  At this point in my life I would

rather create a mystery story than travel.  In my stories I can travel to all parts of the globe and into the deepest portals of my mind.”

Peckham was born and raised in Niagara Falls Ontario, but now makes Kelowna British Columbia his home.  His wife Lynn is his inspiration and mentor in all his writing.

Lynn and Bill entertain at many seniors' facilities around Kelowna. When people ask what they play Bill says Lynn sings and plays the electronic keyboard and he sings and plays the 'fool'. Lynn says Bill does that 'fool' bit very well.
